Wedded Bliss!
Something’s amiss
Something is wrong with this lad
But the ring’s on my finger
And it’s best not to linger
On thoughts of the morbid and bad
He took off my clothes
Called me his rose
And – so coldly – claimed me his wife
Now his melting pale face
And waxwork embrace
Are mine – for what’s left of my life.
But oh God! It’s so cold
To have and to hold
And delight in the bliss of the wed
Sometimes I scream
But it’s never a dream
My dearly beloved is dead

Something is wrong with this lad, you say. I know the type. I am the type.
A verse, and then I will go:
He kept his promise. He is faithful. He is also furniture.
The candle does the living for the both of you now.
Do not wait for the melting face to answer.
Say your vows again into the wax, quietly, in your own name.
Wedded is a word, not a wall.It stayed with me from the first line. That is all I have for it.
